Tic-tac-toe is a quick strategy game for two people sharing one device. The board keeps track of turns and scores, making it easy to play a single round or a short series without installing an app.
How does the game work?
Player X starts and the players take turns selecting empty squares on the three-by-three board. The first player to place three matching symbols in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line wins. If every square is filled without a line, the round is a draw.
How to play
- Choose who will play as X and O.
- Select one empty square per turn.
- Watch the status message for the next player or result.
- Restart the round to keep the scores, or reset the scores to begin again.

It is suitable for children learning turn-taking and simple planning, adults looking for a quick shared game, and teachers demonstrating basic game logic. Keyboard support also lets players move through the board without relying only on a pointer.
Can tic-tac-toe always be won?
No. When both players use the strongest strategy, the game ends in a draw. The challenge is noticing forks, blocking immediate threats, and creating two possible winning lines. Corners and the center are usually more valuable than edge squares.
